     Nestled at the base of the Berkshire Mountains in the Northwest corner of Connecticut, this 31 home community is a quiet and peaceful place and ideal for the sports enthusiast.  Stillwater pond, shown in the background in the above picture, is a great fishing area enjoyed by hundreds of people annually  - both in the summer and in the winter (ice fishing).  1.5 miles to the north is John Minetto State Park, a favorite for swimming, picnics or simply enjoying the picturesque country atmosphere.

     The City of Torrington, the largest city in Litchfield County, is home to over 35,000 residents and is located approximately 4 miles south southeast of the Hemlocks Community.  The Capitol of Connecticut, Hartford, is located approximately 25 miles to the southeast.
